  1. How do I know which courses to choose?
    1. Our Course Catalog is your best resourse to find the classes you need to choose each term. Review find your classes with the course catalog for instructions.
  2. Why am I getting a registration error?
    1. There are a number of different reasons you may be receiving an error. You can find the list of errors and what to do about them here: List of Registration Errors
  3. How can I tell if my class is in-person or online?
    1. Each course will be assigned a meet type. This will tell you whether you need to show up or log in to class. Review getting your class schedule for a description of each meet type code.
  4. When can I make changes to my schedule?
    1. The time you have to add and or drop courses will depend on the length of your courses and whether you are a new or continuing students. Learn more about our add/drop timelines for more information.
  5. What’s the different between block and open registration ?
    1. If your program follows an open registration rules, you will register by choosing individual courses. With block registration, your courses are organized into a group of classes. Some programs allow for adjustable blocks which allow you to add or drop one or more courses within the group. Fixed block programs do not allow courses to be removed without permission from your academic advisor or program administrator.
  6. Where can I find the registration rules my program follows?
    1. Review getting your class schedule to find if your program follows open, adjustable block or fixed block registration.
  7. What are the maximum amount of credits I can register in to maintain part-time status?
    1. Students must enroll in less than nine credit hours to be considered part-time.
  8. Why do all the available blocks have the same courses with different CRNs? How do I know which one to choose?
    1. The CRN or course reference number details the specific information about a course. This will tell you when the course occurs and where it will be (online vs in-person, room number). This allows us to schedule multiple offerings of the course and for you to choose one that fits your schedule. You can choose any option that works for you. You can always speak with your advisor or program administrator for further assistance.
  9. I received an email that provided block registration instructions, but I don’t see a blocks tab. How do I choose my group of classes?
    1. Our emails can be fairly generic as it is sent to a large number of students. If your program follows the block registration rules, but you don’t have a blocks tab, contact the Office of the Registrar to look into this for you. Review getting your class schedule to find if your program follows open, adjustable block or fixed block registration.
  10. How can I change individual courses in my block to make my schedule more convenient?
    1. If your program follows the adjustable block rules, you may be able to switch one or more of your courses beginning the first day of classes. If you are in a fixed block program, you will need permission from your advisor or program administrator to make any changes.
  11. What should I do if there is only one block available?
    1. Some programs may only allow you to choose from one block. If you only see one option, you still need to select the radial button next to it and click submit.
  12. Why do some programs follow block registration rules??
    1. Block registration provides students with the convenience of self-registering without having to fit individual courses into their schedule. Once you choose your block, you can view your schedule on mySAIT. Please note, course dates and times are subject to change. Make sure to check your schedule before your first day of classes.
  13. Can I switch my block or change individual courses if my schedule doesn’t work for my personal commitments?
    1. If your program follows block registration, you must from the blocks available. Students in adjustable block programs can change one or more courses from their schedules beginning the first day of classes. If you are in a fixed block program, you must speak with your advisor or program admin to make any course changes.
  14. What is a fixed block?
    1. This means you will choose a group of classes instead of individual courses. A fixed block cannot be altered. You will need to speak with your advisor or program admin to make changes beginning the first day of classes.
  15. How do I know which block to choose?
    1. You will be able to see the dates, times and delivery method for each course within a block. This will allow you to choose a schedule that works best for you. If you’re unsure of the block to choose, your advisor or program admin can help you make sense of
  16. Can I switch blocks if the one I chose doesn’t fit my schedule?
    1. You can change a block by selecting the radial button next to a different block and clicking submit.
  17. I can see my courses in the blocks tab, how do I choose my  individual classes?
    1. Because your program follows the block registration rules, you will not select the individual course. You will need to select the radial button next to the group of courses that works best for you and click submit.
  18. Are the courses in the block what I need to register for this term?
    1. Yes, your blocks are built to ensure you are selecting all the courses you require for the upcoming semester.
  19. How do I choose a block?
    1. Click the radial button next to the block title. This will be located above the group of courses. Once you have chosen your preferred block, click submit to save the changes.
  20. Why does one course show multiple meeting times and how can I choose one that works for me?
    1. This may mean the course in question will happen at different times in different weeks or the course has additional components such as a lab. Once you submit your option, you’ll be able to see the exact day and time for each of your courses by viewing the schedule details.
  21. If I am in a fixed block program, do I not need to select individual courses?
    1. You will only need to select the block you prefer. Each block will include all the courses you need to complete in the upcoming semester.
  22. How do I add my preferred block to my schedule?
    1. Once you select a block and click submit, your schedule will be viewable through mySAIT. This will appear in the lower left section of your screen.
  23. Can I print my schedule after I choose my courses?
    1. You should be able to print your schedule using your browser’s options. If using Chrome, click the three dots under the ‘X’ in the upper right corner of your screen and click ‘Print’. From there, you can choose the appropriate path to send the print job to your printer.
  24. Do we get to choose our schedule?
    1. Your schedule will be generated based on the block or courses you choose. Once you have made your selection and click submit, your schedule will appear in the lower left corner of your screen.
